From the front-line supervisor to the Executive Vice President, managers matter.
If you can improve your managers, you can improve your whole organization.
The majority of managers have never received management training. Let's change that. Your management team can have the knowledge they need to do their jobs right.
When managers are equipped to properly manage and set expectations, coworkers will be more productive on the tasks that matter most.
A manager who is equipped and supported doesn't want to bail out and is less likely to get burned out. This flows down to the coworkers they manage, who are more satisfied with their managers.
My name is John Thalheimer. Twenty-five years ago, when I was first promoted to supervisor, I struggled to hold my team accountable, delegate responsibilities, set priorities, and communicate my expectations. In short, I failed to lead.
If I wanted to be successful, something had to change.
After lots of learning coupled with trial and error, I found the secret to great management and high-performing teams: small behavioral changes that stem from making the right decisions.
With over twenty-five years of experience leading teams across industries, I know the impacts of wrong decisions—and the amazing success teams can achieve from the right ones.
Now, I help other managers be successful leaders. Schedule a time to speak with me, and let me know how I can help you lead an organization with extraordinary performance.
Over the years, I have created a simple methodology with a powerful impact called True Star Leadership.
Where we start is as important as
where we are going. No one can
help unless they know where you
are. I use several different
assessments to help the leader
better define their strengths and
how others might see them.
Direction provides clarity in the
actions necessary to achieve our
goals. Together the leader and I
will develop an understanding of
where the leader is headed and
what they want to accomplish
along the way.
One of my favorite quotes is,
“There are three paths, and this
is one.” There is no one way to
be a great manager. There is no
one way to be a great leader. I
work with the leader to
develop a path that best fits their
talents and skills, allowing them
to reach their goals.
Even with a clear path, people
stumble. As a guide, I walk
alongside the manager, helping
them tap into their intrinsic
motivation, warning them of
potential hazards, and holding
them accountable to their
objectives.

Knowledge is the information we
learn about a subject through
experience and education. We
use our knowledge to make
better decisions and interact with
the world for our betterment.
Our Abilities are knowledge in
action and are developed through
experience and practice.
We exist in an environment
that influences how we
behave. It is our responsibility
to make sure we are the best
environment for ourselves.
Environment encapsulates the
physical surroundings, our
coworkers, and the underlying
values of anorganization.
Energy is our force for forward
motion. When our energy reserve
is low, our decision-making is
poor. It is our responsibility to
know how to keep our energy
reserve high.
Systems allow us to consistently
make the right behavioral
decision. They provide us with a
set of steps, so we always get the
same results.
Resources are the fuel we need to
improve our performance.
Resources can be funds but can
also be time, supplies, food, etc.
When we have direction, we
know where to put our focus.
Direction is a heading more than
a destination. In truth, most of us
pick a destination to give us a
direction, but it never ends up
being the place we reach.
