Do You Fear the Stage?
Do you fear standing up in front of others? Do people not hear the message you attended? Do “uh” your way through your business presentations? Do you get flustered when asked a question?
In the last two years, I have delivered hundreds of presentations to thousands of people both in person and virtual. Yet, it wasn’t always like that, I can remember when my boss asked me to deliver a simple presentation to a hundred employees. I was so nervous. I stood up there mumbled said more “uh’s” than you would have thought possible.
Later I was asked to facilitate leadership development classes for my company. And as I learned how to prepare, speak clearly, use the room to my advantage, tell stories, and most importantly have fun, I realized that all I ever wanted to do was use my presence to help others.
Facilitation is public speaking, but it is more than that. Facilitation is helping the audience find the wisdom in the room. Sometimes, it is challenging them. Sometimes, it is listening to them. Sometimes, it is just sitting there and doing nothing.
I love it. And I want to help you love it, too.
